Brewer BIO...
« on: May 09, 2013, 11:39:30 AM »
Hello Everyone, I'm Matt and here is my BIO... 8)

Who Are You

I've been a homebrewer since: 1992 But took a 10 year break somewhere in the middle. I was busy with life I guess…

Home Town
Born: Baltimore, Maryland
Live: Lewisville, Texas

Have you ever had a homebrew mistake that turned out great?
I attach my false bottom to the drain with a piece of tubing. I once knocked it off while stirring the mash. This was a big beer with a ton of hot grain that had to be scooped out right in the middle of the process. The beer actually turned out great in the end.

Do you have a homebrewing disaster you'd like to share?
I just put a fresh keg on tap for a party / cookout thing and somehow the tap opened and the entire keg emptied onto the garage floor. A nice sticky mess and 5gallons wasted, Oh well… It's a good thing I had more beer...

What is your favorite style(s) to brew?
At the moment IPA, but it’s been known to change.

What is your favorite beer recipe?
Any and All…

Describe your brew system.

This is it… I really need some new pics... It has had some modifications lately like a third keg for HLT, a water filter system, some sight glasses and thermometers. and a Chugger Pump w/ SS head.  Soon to have a plate chiller and RIMS system.
Baby steps though…

How frequently do you brew?
Every chance I get. At least once every couple weeks or so.

What is your favorite hop? Why?
Toss up between Fuggles and Citra. Fuggles, because I like the earthy notes, and Citra, for the piney, green, Citrus IPA flavor and aroma.

Are you an indoor or outdoor brewer?
Garage brewer here…
