This sounds like a fun idea.  Let us know how it turns out.

Well, it turns out that the local guys won and neither of our cross-country clubs earned a medal.  Who'd a think it?
Next up will be Pilsners at a competition yet to be named.

Local bias in the judging?  :)  Or just that their beers weren't shipped halfway across the country?

The first and second place IPA's were from High Plains Draughters and Laramie Homebrew Club, the third place listed no club.
There were 44 IPA entries altogether and each of our clubs sent 12, so there were 20 other IPA's that could have been from anywhere.

Some new statistics came in from the 8 Seconds organizer.  It looks like our club had 5 entries score better than the best scores from OBC.  That's something.  One of our guys got the best score of the whole category, a 40.
My entry was the worst score of both clubs.

Actually there were 3 entries from the two clubs that scored worse than mine.
It will be interesting to see why it scored poorly, hopefully just not hoppy enough.
