Does this look like a pellicle?

Looks kinda weird to me, but I'm not sure. Its the 5th day of fermentation.

What yeast is it?  Some top-cropping yeasts look kind of funky like that.  5 days is pretty early for a pellicle to form.

Looks like krauesen (foamy yeast) to me. Pellicle wouldn't form within five days. Nothing to worry about.

Agreed.  Just looks like normal yeasty krausen to me.

Thanks. I usually ferment in buckets so I can't see the krausen, but I had a phenolic infection from a scratched bucket last month and I've been a little paranoid since then. I guess I freaked out because of those big kinda-white bubbles. Good to know it looks normal.
