I love the outdoors. Rock climbing in the summer and back country snow boarding in the winter. And then the occasional mountain bike ride.

Golf, followed by more golf and musclecars. Am also an expert at taking the occasional nap.

Beside kids and family it is Linux and Free Software movement.
I actually find a lot of similarities between home brewers and Free Software/Open Source communities.

Free Software movement.

any good links to share?

A few years ago there was a good podcast called Linux Reality:
http://linuxreality.com/
Most of the free software lives around Linux OS but there are also other OS-es with free software/open source software projects.
There is a lot of blogs and web sites dedicated to this subject.
You could also check our LUG (Linux User Group) web site.
http://eclug.homelinux.org/
It has a lot of news info and How Tos.
Thank you for the interest.
If you have more questions, let me know.

Wow. I didn't know that you get so much snow in VW. I used to live in NC and moved back to New England b/c I missed the snow.

Lately-Daddy Duty

I like: Camping, Mountian Biking, Going to the beach.

I also do a lot of gardening-more landscaping.  Lots of DIY stuff around the house.  Refurbing, replacing, retrofitting, etc.

Daddy Duty has also crimped travel, but I enjoy that too.

I hear you on the daddy duty.

I used to be really into backpacking.  Back in the day before I became a corporate whore I was a BSA backpacking merit badge instructor.  Did a month on the AT after I graduated from high school.  I've always wanted to do the entire trail but that doesn't seem likely at this point.

I have gotten very active in trying to maintain and improve my lawn.  Just bought the place we're in now and it's pretty clear the previous owners didn't care much about it.  I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm learning as I go!

Learning how to play the guitar, banjo, and now the accordion. Also painting and gardening along with roasting my own coffee and making my own olives and last winter started carving my own canoe paddles. It is so cool to start with a big, rough plank of wood and end up with a beautiful custom paddle.

I hear that tygo, the lipstick is wearing off our pig.

I am not trying to compete against the retired people, college profs who are off for the summer, or rich guys who get chemlawn.  I just want my yard to not look like sanford and son.

Yeah, my immediate objective is simply to have grass everywhere there's supposed to be grass.  It's a little thin out there.
