Just saw the app in the Apple app store. I guess those of us who have not "upgraded" from the first gen iPad are out of luck. App is for iOS 6 only...

Quick update...

The app was approved by Apple and will be available in the app store once we've worked out some final bugs.

iOS5 will be supported.

Hey Steve any luck with the iOS5 support??

Likely no word until the bug fix goes in since that's all apple's doing.

Perhaps tonight I will start the download up before going to bed and let things run hopefully to completion.  I hope this will resolve the issue but....

Did not fix it.

I turned the sleep time to "never" and tried again. Eventually the spinning download gears when away and still nothing.

I guess I will wait for a new updated version of the app to come out and then give another go later.

Bummer...I was looking forward to reading Zymurgy from my iPad. Oh well...fortunately, I have DRAFT magazine, Beer Connoisseur read on my iPad in the meantime.

Hi Everyone-

Sorry if you're experiencing some bugs, we do have an update waiting for approval in the app store which will resolve the splash screen freezing issue, as well as enable iOS5 users to download and install the app.

Regarding the downloading issues bug - we have not experienced that on our end, but are looking into it. The files are quite large (50-75MB) and require a decent internet connection to download (we don't recommend downloading over cell networks). Also, we had to move the app out of Apple's Newsstand due to the AHA Model (members only benefit, the magazine isn't for sale). Because of this, we can only download one issue at a time and it likely the culprit for your buggy experience.

Generally speaking, if you 'hard close' the app and restart, most issues will resolve themselves, but please continue to post bugs here!

Thanks!

-Nate

It's been submitted to Apple, so it's all up to them now.

I have the same issue as stihler.

I will not keep the app if I have to keep the screen unlocked the entire download time.

Please fix, this is an app I have really been looking forward to.

So what exactly is supposed to happen?

The Zymurgy app showed up at the App Store yesterday? so I downloaded it.

I was able to download it to my iPad 2 with OS 6.1.3 and my iPhone 4S which has the a OS version.

I can login fine and the nice icons of past issues of Zymurgy show up.

I select one of those issues, usually the most recent one, and the download spinning gear pops up and spins and spins and...spins. Eventually it stops. The issue of Zymurgy is nowhere to be found. Is it supposed to show up in one of the ebook readers? I looked in iBooks but it was not there.

I've tried this with both the iPad and the iPhone with the same results.

Am I doing something wrong? I don't really see how I could be but...

At this point I am seriously underwhelmed by the new app.

Am I alone in this?

Oh well....

It's been submitted to Apple, so it's all up to them now.

Apple's dev center has been unusually bit busy of late, they need some patience.

With my iphone 4s I was somehow able to download 1 issue, but not a second.  Upgrade made no difference....this is a bummer.

any word on a Kindle Fire store ap?  Sideloading aps to kindle is no fun.

I use an iPhone 4S and have no problem downloading multiple issues. I'd guess you probably need to free up some memory on your phone.  The issue files are quite large.

You can zoom in with the Android app.

The iOS5 fix will go live next week.
