Boring ecopunk. ;)
Where is the smokestack when she first gets lit up?

It does belch a little before it gets warmed up good!  You wanna see that too...
might be a while before I let it go out......and have to fire it up from cold again.

Brought home 6 pieces of work this weekend.  ::)

28 inch rounds of riverine cottonwood.  Standing solid dead.  Murderous to split.
Won't make that mistake again.
I am thinking drink tables in the yard, or log rolling races on the lawn.

Good god man!  Have you no decency?!   ;)

I spent 15 years working in a coal-fired power plant.  I have yet to smell any woodsmoke that comes near to stinking as bad as coal when burned (we burned bituminous coal from Kentucky).

Totally agree.  Peeeyouuuu!

I burned a whole piece.  Took me about 24 hours, and I broke my sledge in the process.   ::)
It burns clean once she gets going however, and I did not let it stop to smoke.

I actually love the smell of coal.
Probably because the only time we burned it was late fall, on the mountain, and it usually came with biscuits gravy eggs and bacon. ;)

How about the aromatherapy of juniper?
Sometimes I ecopunk out and purposely let a nice slab smolder and smoke a bit all day,
but only if I am going to be around the place to enjoy it.

Cottonwood,
perhaps good for nighttime burning when only the deer say whats that stank?

We have termite issues by me.  Burn it quick or stack it by the neighbors fence.

Drinking tables would become infested.

 :D.

Out here we have it dry
and those pests caint survive too well.

I am thinking that these rounds may last 30 years
in the elements
but ifn I get a real sledge
they may be ash come spring.

Not beetle kill; Right-Of-Way clearing material.

After thrashing my back last year, and crushing my foot this year,
I am thinking it may be time to look into a hydraulic wood splitter....

I must be getting old. ::)
