Maybe the AHA can work on legislation to up the home production limit.  200 gals just isnt reasonable when you live in an area with minimal good beer choices.
That works out to 3 6-packs a week for each of the 2 adults living in the house, I can't imagine that would be an easy limit to raise.  On the other hand, how do they know how much you brewed?

on the other hand, that's just over 2 beers a night per adult IF there are only 2 living in the house. if there are three adults and the limit is still 200 gallons then your down to less than 1 beer a night per person, still not the end of the world. but imagine if there were 4 adults in the house, why then your talking about less than 4 beers per week per person. And that's just madness... madness I say  ;D

**EDIT TO CORRECT MY MATH**

200 gallons among 4 adults = 17.53 fl oz per day rather than less than 4 beers per week.

I don't keep count but I brew mostly 6 gallon batches twice a month and a few times more than that so about 70-75 gallons.

It's late in the afternoon and I may be getting tired but when I figure ((2*12)*6) it looks a lot like 144 gallons to me.  That's before the "and a few more than that" statement.  I think you may have missed the 2X/month part of the equation.  Not a big deal but I kept staring at your statement with my math brain screaming 'I DON"T THINK SO' and I had to work it out to shut up the voices.  ::)

I brewed 75-80 gallons last year but will probably not do more that 60 this year.  I've been slowing down the last few years.

Since I first replied I've brewed another 70 gallons(15 yesterday) so I'm up to around 150 for the year.  But then we drank 40 gallons at Oktoberfest so I haven't made any progress in building a winter stash.

I've brewed about 110 gallons this year.  I brewed a lot early in the year trying to figure out a weird diacetyl issue I was having. Been slowing down a tad since I resolved that issue. I ruined a lot of beer this year. But that's okay, 1 step back for 2 steps forward...

I'm at about 80 gallons so far in 2013.  With what I have on the schedule, I'll probably finish the year at 95 or 100 gallons.

Uh....I'd be limiting my brewing to 2014 if I admitted to a figure...I believe I am now brewing for my neighbor's unused household allocation.  He likes my beer.

What was your diacetyl solution?

I'm at 95 right now. I'll brew at least another 3 batches, so I'll probably finish the year around 110 - 120 gallons.

I'm at about 170 right now.  I'll probably end up pretty close to 200 at year end.

Winter stash? Here in texas I'm more worried about building up my summer stash. Between football and brewing, my weekends are booked.

I'm at 95. Two ten gallon batches and 15 five gallon batches. The goal was to brew 30 batches this year but didn't brew for two straight months on two separate occasions. I'll be brewing two batches next weekend. I hope to get a couple more in after that. 20 batches is a must, 110 gallons is certainly in my sites.

Just reviewed for 2013 and ended up at 168 gallons (14 batches) at home and 393 gallons (9 batches) at the brewpub.  First 12 of this year is in the book. Here's to a fun and productive 2014 all. Cheers!
