Well, finally lost in my fantasy football league. I went 10-0, clinched a playoff spot in week 10 and then I finally lost this week. Good run though!  8)

Wow, that's quite a run.  Good luck in your playoffs.  I went 12-2 one year and lost in the first round of the freakn' playoffs!  Last year I went 7-5, barely squeezed into the playoffs and won the championship!

This year our standings are crazy tight w/ 5 teams in 1st at 6-5, 4 teams at 5-6 and one at 3-8!

Broncs beat the Chiefs, so I'm a happy Dolphan.  1972 Miami Dolphins - still the ONLY NFL team with a perfect season.

I'm not going to say a word about the Eagles. It would be nice to see the Giants win this week. :)

Well...I'd say the refs blew this one.  Obviously a passing interference, threw the flag and then they pick it up.  And then no explanation why they picked it up.  Carolina played a good game...I would have loved to see 1st and goal at the 1 with no time left.  One play decides the winner.

Denver at home next Sunday night...should be a good one.  Too bad Welker may not play.

I don't think it was PI.  Sure, when you show the view cropped the way you have it looks bad and clearly there is contact with the receiver.  However, since the ball was intercepted at roughly the same time and even if there had not been contact it would have been intercepted, the ball was uncatchable by the receiver, thus no PI.  They definitely should have explained it though.

Happy the Pats lost, but they got cheated of the chance to win.

I still disagree . . .
Quote
It means, "He clearly wouldn't have had the opportunity to catch the ball from where he was standing when the contact occurred." (see the first bullet point above)

You can't watch that play and say Gronkowski couldn't have ran back to the ball if Kuechly didn't grab him. Kuechly clearly restricted his opponent's opportunity to make the catch, and thus a penalty should be called.
This is nonsense - Gronk could not have caught the ball because Lester was in the way.

Also, Brady should be fined for cursing at the officials.

And funny you should mention cheating and the Pats in the same sentence . . . ;)

Every week someone somewhere gets "cheated" out of a win.  I've watched the Dolphins be on the receiving end of some really bad calls that cost them the game.  But, at the snap of the ball on the next play that call is history and cannot be changed.  All that really matters is the notch in the Win or Loss column.

Suck it up and get on with it (it's only a game).  Whining is for babies.

Patriot players and fans whine  too much!  I agree with Carl, bad calls cost somebody a game every week.  I'm sure the Pats have had some fortuitous calls in their favor (the tuck rule comes to mind).

Who the f##k is whining?  I even said Carolina played a good game.  Steven Smith handed it to Talib all night (until they took him out).  Bad calls cost teams games, yes...but the call was made by the only referee who had a clear shot of it.

Brady will probably be fined or may get a pass when the NFL realized the refs totally screwed up.

As far as the tuck rule, the call was made exactly as the rule was written.  The Pats actually were on the other end of that rule the following season.  Then the rules committee got rid of it, as they should have.

I've already moved on to next week.  Carolina seems legit...let's see if they can sustain the rest of the year.

I love Punatic's picture of how he feels at the end of every season by the way! :P

1972 Miami Dolphins - still the ONLY NFL team with a perfect season.

Unlike the 2007 New England Patriots, who choked on the money ball in the big game against a Wild Card team...

And, they enjoyed that so much they rolled over against the same team again in 2012!

How I looked after the Super Bowls in 2008 and 2012...

The 1972 Dolphins get all of the credit in the world, and deservedly so.  In my book the 2007 Pats lost their first game of the season against the Jets by cheating.  I'm glad they officially lost in the end to deny them a tainted perfect season.

Pats championships in the 5 years before they were caught cheating - 3
Pats championships in the 5 years after they were caught cheating - 0

Geez, ya'll are tough! This is the play nice football thread. ;D
I found out I dislike the Patriots a lot less when they lose.

I have had Carrie Underwood in my head all week
singing Sunday night football.

Should be a great game, but man how do you east coasters stay up for that?

So I guess I'll give your ticket for the HOF induction ceremony for Brady and Belichick to someone else, huh Tom.  For someone who hates the Patriots so much, you really don't talk about anything else.  Best Head coach and Quarterback combo ever!!  EVER!!

Sunday night games are better than Monday since they are an hour earlier.  But I've gone to games and not gotten home until 3am.  It's what we do!

Do you think Welker is going to play?

Brady is going after Jim Kelly's record for number of Super Bowl loses...   ;D
Maybe, but it sure it nice to see my team play beyond December 31st.
