Everything I have read is that Magnum should really only be used for bittering.

Does anyone have a differing opinion for using Magnum for flavor/aroma?

I tried using Magnum for flavor and aroma twice.  The results ranged from poor to really poor.

If you use Citra with it you may end up with piss poor...

Doesn't Sierra Nevada use Magnum and Citra in their beer to make Torpedo.

Yes, they do.  Another reason I don't drink Torpedo.

+1.  And I think, for an AIPA, it's pretty underwhelming and malt forward.  Love most of Sierra's other beers though.

I actually enjoy Torpedo.  Too each their own.  I could have swore I heard an old BN podcast where Denny said he like dry hopping with Magnum.  Maybe my ears were playing tricks on me? :-\

I used it in Altbier. It was German Magnum and it was pretty earthy. I would do it again but I would advice to be conservative for aroma additions.
