Anybody else attending Hopunion's Hop & Brew School?
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:55:31 am »
After schedule conflicts the past several years, I'm going to attend this year's class. I really have no excuse and after all it's only 20 miles away. The homebrewer class is being held after the pros class on September 12 and 13.

Should be informative and fun. Anyone else going to be there??

I'd love to go, but it won't be this year.

I'll be there.  This will be my third year as a presenter for Hops & Brew School.  I sincerely hope that they keep asking me back because it really is a great event.

See you there!

Now I have to ask how it is so memorable? Could be bundled with a trip to Bend to see friends someday.

I would love to plan that around a vacation someday.  A Bend crawl would be in the itinerary definitely.  2 birds with one stone.

Bend is about 200 miles South of here. I go there about once a year. As a matter of fact we spent a couple days in Bend last week. We had a great time. Deschutes has their Black Butte XXV Anniversary Imperial Porter out now. I thought it was already a darn good beer, but has a "best after 7/2014" on it. I bought 12 bottles of it. I still have about 6 Black Butte XXIV left from last year that I'll have to compare sometime.

I'll look forward to meeting you guys at brew school.

I'm not going this year but since I live in Yakima I'd like to pop in and meet some of you guys either there at Hop Union or at a bar afterward.  I'll check the schedule with a friend who works there.

I'll be going this year.  I've heard so many great things about it but never had the chance to go.  Strange since Yakima is only a couple hours drive from my house.

Gary-

I sent Melody an email last week asking who's presenting this year but there was no response.   Do you know who the other speakers are?

I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys there-

Last year they had the presenters listed in the email that went out right before, didn't see it in this years email.  I'm pretty sure Stan Hieronymus is one of them

Gary are you only presenting for the 2nd session again?  Tomorrow if I can get online I can post a list of who is speaking at the 1st session, though I'm sure a couple of them will be different in the 2nd session.

Yes, I'll be presenting on Thursday morning. There are a few of my colleagues from the Brewers Association, Chris Pryor, Kari Harrington and Marc Preo that will be attending the first session.

AHA Business Coordinator Steve Parr and I will be there for the second session.

Cheers!
