Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA
« on: June 25, 2013, 07:12:50 pm »
WOW!!!!!
If you haven't had it, get it. If you like mango you'll love this. Mosaic masterpiece for sure.
Not very bitter, light body, but what a refreshing way to see what Citra and mosaic is like.
If you want the full experience go cut load unload and stack a cord of Doug fir first.

Good job Deschutes!

Man, Deschutes is such a kickass brewery.  That sounds like a good one.  I need to take another trip out west so I can get some fresh . That would be a good one to get fresh. I bet Mosaic is really fruit with Citra.

It's pretty tasty. Mouth meter puts it as an APA not IPA. Not seemingly bitter at all. Even less than Mirror Pond. But that mosaic has a great flavor and zero cat squat from the Citra. When you first pour it the mango is dead obvious. It fades a little but duh, aroma does that.

I'll have to pick some up if I see it.  It sounds like what I target for my house IPA.

On a related note, this week Deschutes is releasing their Black Butte Birthday Reserve beer.  They label it sequentially so this year it is XXV.  I just had a year old XXIV and it was awesome!  Incredibly complex and balanced.  I hope to pick up a few bottles to lay down.

I picked up a Ninkasi Total Domination. Compared to Fresh Squeezed it was average. Good, better than I have made so far, but less impressive than Deschutes by far

Definitely not an IPA in terms of bitterness but a very good aroma. I don't know if it was just me but it tasted a little sweet to me. I have been finding that a lot lately with hoppy beers these days. If it was a little drier I would have loved it. Great hop aroma, will buy again.

I think it's one that rides on first impression. I'd like more bitter backbone too. It might walk on the mosaic mango tho

I like the mosiac. Guy in the club made an all mosiac ipa/apa. A delightful smell that I wish I could bring with me everywhere. Mosiac is a great hop.

I forgot I had picked up one of these, it's sitting in one of the fridges.  I'll have to try it tonight.

Thanks for the reminder

Tastes a little bit too much like juice and not enough like beer to me.
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

Wife just brought a bottle back from the brewery so I'm looking forward to tasting it. I'm not huge into IPAs so I'm intrigued by the reviews here.
