Could you dry celery the tomato weizen?
Only after it's been run through the column.  ;)

Hey, I brew an awesome tomato/wheat beer!   But that's not where it ends.  (TPW)  ;D
And I have an awesome pet unicorn. :)

Now Tom, you know owning unicorns is illegal and we're not allowed to talk about them here.   ;)

Tom, I have not judged second round, as I would want a better judge than me evaluating my second round beers.  :D

Have done first round. Will again if no conflicts.

FWIW, I got a damn good review/feedback from you from the Old Ale club-only comp from 2012...don't sell yourself too short.

cheers--

Good point Tom. Then one could surmise that gold in IPA means more than a gold in MaterWeisen.
They listed the number of entries per category at the awards. Popular categories like IPA were in the 800-1000 range. Less popular categories may have had <200. Winning in IPA means you've beaten more entries, but you could argue that some less popular categories require more skill and so attract highly skilled brewers. So - I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from category size.

Thanks. Some days the palate is on, some days it is off. When I wrote the old BJCP exam, I think I tasted different beers than the proctors had to taste,as reflected in my score.

I've found that as I get older, my sense of smell (and therefore taste to some extent) kinda fades in and out.

For me it is more about the weather and minor allergies.

To paraphrase what I often tell my wife, its not the size of the category that matters its the skill you demonstrate in brewing it.

Hopefully you are not giving me the same eyeroll she does.
