Gorgeous Brew Day
« on: October 18, 2013, 11:37:39 am »
Wow! Had to move the brewery to the deck today. Too nice for the shop.
Brewing up a Blonde and an IPA maybe a brown too if time permits. Time to get Christmas gift beer rolling. Kinda down to the wire for bottle conditioning by the big day.

I had a night like that last Friday.  Started brewing after work, no wind at all, nice temperature and start to finish including cleaning was 4.5 hours (all grain).

Hey, too cool!  That's a cinder cone type volcano back there.
We have the shield type volcanoes here.

Full moon tonight.  I'll be doing the traditional overnight full moon "brewing session" tonight.

Yeah sweet view.

I've been busy making wine for the last six weeks and everything is now caught up.  I thought I might brew a bitter last night, then I remembered I have one in a fermentor in the basement.  So I cleaned kegs instead.  Not as much fun.  Also split some firewood, definitely not as much fun.

Did firewood yesterday. Glad it's done.

The one behind the mash tun is Mt Hood.

Off the other side of the deck is Mt Adams.  We got a new neighbor over there this summer. Didn't mess up the view too bad.

Killer scenery. I gotta find a state with a view.  :(    PNW someday, I'm thinking.

You don't have a view of The Brickyard?   ;)

I can only see two from my house. Hood is about 50 miles away. Adams is about 20. From a hill south of my place you can see Rainier Adams St Helens Hood and Jefferson

Nope.  Been there many times but the Brickyard sits smack in .....ummmm.....a less than scenic part of Indy  ;)
