Lou and the VU were very underrated and influential on many artists who came after.  RIP Lou.

"Heroin." Wow. That song makes me want to peel my skin off. In a good way.

A true original.
I saw the VU back in the day.
Electrifying.

"One chord is fine. Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz." - Lou Reed

Always thought this was a funny quote, even though I play a lot of jazz on the guitar and bass.  I wouldn't put it in my personal top 20 or 30, however, "The Velvet Underground and Nico" is a great album...and one that sounds so much better on an album than a CD!

I remember playing Sweet Jane in one of my earlier garage bands. It was so easy to play and people loved it. We would get requests for it. He definitely left his mark on 20th century music. He will be remembered. R.I.P. Lou
