Is this pump OK for pre-boil...pumping from jug into pot?

I'm looking for ways to limit how much I have to lift since I had surgery earlier in the year. Since Jax water sucks I fill two 5-gallon jugs at the grocery store with RO water. I want to pull the water up from the jugs and into my pot to heat up. Other than the hose that comes with it not being good for drinking water, is this ok for pre-boil water?

looks like the shaft connects directly to the impeller.  If that is the case, I would not use it.  It is likely not food grade, and the gear oil may taste funny.

March/chugger pumps have a magnettic impeller, so there is no oil in contact with the wort, and they are food grade.

Unless your jugs have a bottom valve, you'll need a pump that can prime itself ("pull" liquid out of the top opening).

You can use a diaphragm pump if you aren't able to manually prime:

Just seems more expensive than they should be.

Looks like the shurflo pumps will work and not as pricey.

Their model 2008 runs on 115vac and there's a couple of YouTube videos showing them being used with beer. With the strainer added and 1/2" barb adapter it was about $100 from amazon. I'll post pics of the setup when I'm done.
