Hop Extract

I want to purchase some Hop extract to play with but i dont know how well it holds.  Does anyone have any advice on this subject?  i will obviously keep it in my hop freezer but how long will it keep without losing to much AA etc would be great!

I've always heard that hop extract stays viable for years, longer than pellets would.
