How much sugar to prime 2 gallons of cider? 2 oz in one cup water?

A couple of online calculators suggest that would get you 2.7 volumes.

I would use less.  1.5 oz should be plenty.

Too late. First cider try. 2 gal juice, half packet us05. Finished (dropped clear) at 1.008. Its just for fun. I used just shy of 2oz and bottled in fliptop pounders. Hoping for a little fizz by thanksgiving but not holding my breath

If you want carbonation by Thanksgiving, good luck... Keep the cider real hot at like 80 F and maybe you'll get there.  Otherwise it typically takes a good month to carbonate your cider.

That's what I figured. I might bring a few bottles and do the hot cinnamon cider thing.
