Nice.  I have a picture somewhere of my three year old helping to bottle (she's sixteen now).  Enjoy the time, it goes by fast!

Nice picture.  Not quite old enough to scoop out all the spent grain and hose it out for you but he'll be there soon!

That's awesome! All my kids have helped along the way as well and everyone has been a great time, although now it seems all they want to do is drink the beer:D

How did you talk Jack Sparrow into helping?

He'll be proud of this experience. Like father...like son. I see more of this in his future. :)

If he stirs in grain to water(a little at a time) there won't be any dough balls.  :)

Where do dough balls come from?

Those days pass quickly.  My "bottle capper" is now a senior in college and a certified beer snob!  But he gets invited along whenever his friends are going out crafting for the night and is quick to turn me onto another great porter or stout.  Man, I wish I could have it both ways....the bottle capper was great to have around.

I also love that you are teaching him the importance of the blue cooler mashtun.  Too many people out there doing a disservice to the next generation using the inferior red ones. :)
