My starters never foam like that. Wonder why...

I had a starter of White Labs Pacific Ale yeast blow off before. It was insane. And the beer it was brewed with blew the airlock off to the ceiling 2 days into fermentation. But my starters are pretty tame. They only foam up when I do the walk by shake/swirl.

well mine are always on a stir plate...hefe's usually have a nice high krausen like this one. the second step definitely was higher than the first step - both were 1.034OG 1800ml 72F, wyeast nutrient, O2.

The foam is kinda weird. It almost looks like soap foam rather than beer or starter foam. Interesting.

For sure no soap...don't use it. It was a really normal krausen, just very active. Pic may not represent it well.

I wasn't second guessing you or your technique. Just thought it looked different than anything I have seen before in almost 20 years of brewing. I think it is kinda cool!

Oh for sure, non offense taken. If anything, it's starsan adding to foam. But from my eyes perspective, it just looks like a nice krausen.  It has that typical brown  over the top like lemon meringue .
