Obtain all of the funding required to open up our brewery in planning!

We're off to a good start and need to keep on truckin' to the finish line for a Q3 2014 Grand Opening. 8)
Ron,  do you have a kickstarter campaign going?

No...but I'm sure we'll entertain this option at some point before long.

1) Break in the new brewery.
2) Remodel the garage and basement with brewery related operations in mind.
3) Regrade the backyard, plant a garden, plant my dad's blackberries in my yard, and maybe plant some hops.
4) Drop 5lbs by September so I can fit into that wedding dress I bought! ;)

Brewing wise my goals are to finally start making lagers with my new, repurposed lagering fridge, get into a few more comps and score some more bling, refocus on some good recipes and improve them

All my kids are graduating their respective schools this year and moving on in the fall with the oldest off to college, they grow up fast so I'm looking at spending more time with them both individually and as a family

Pay off a little debt and get the business growing again since the economy around here is starting to finally pick up and head back in the right direction.

Lose 35 more lbs. lost 35 in 2013 so I need to keep the momentum going.
Master brewing lagers or at least keep working towards a decent one.
Be less grumpy and more patient.

My resolution for 2014 is the same as 2013's.  I fully resolve to not make New Year's resolutions.  I tworked last year.

Goals are bit less easy to meet: lose a little weight each month until I'm somewhere under obese.  Hopefully get more energy in the process and survive to type this again going into 2015.

Beer-wise, I have a few goals. I started blogging, so I need to try to keep ahead on content for that. Which means I'm hoping to do at least 2 more runs of single-hopped brews this coming year. I also want to get a house 'fest recipe dialed in now that I have a fermentation chamber. I'm not really into competitions, but I'd like to enter a couple of beers this year (my Quad and my Hibiscus Saison) just for fun.

On the personal side, I need to lose all the weight I put on in 2013, then keep going. I was down 80 pounds over the past 3 years, but I put about 20 back on since work got out of control this summer. I'd like to break the 100 total pounds lost mark this year.

And speaking of work, I've finally come to grips that my schedule has gotten so out-of-control that it's effecting my health and my family. If my boss doesn't right the ship in the coming months and get us fully staffed again, then I'm going to have to tighten my belt and cut back my hours. I've finally realized that if I'm constantly giving 110% at work with nothing in return, then my family starts to lose out on that extra 10% of me.

This is exactly how I feel about the brewery. Looks like this year I'll be able to afford to pay myself a bit more and work a bit less with the crew we have hired. Still going to be a lot of hours and weekly late nights but less weekends and more time at home than last 3.5 years.

Mine is to get some beer samples to Major and to break the 1000bbl mark. Which means canning.

Ron, if you are only a quarter late in opening that is a win. We missed our goal date by only five months.

I offer my support to those trying to become more active and lose weight in the new year!  Keep up the hard work and good luck with your goals...

For my brewing resolutions, I would like to brew small batches of beer as often as I can in 2014.  Hopefully, in doing so, I will get the opportunity to experiment with the utilization of specific ingredients like different hop varietals, yeast strains, specialty malts, etc.

I would also like to create a diary of the "2014 Year-in-Beer" -- the idea would be to document the amazing beer experiences that I get to enjoy each week.  Whether it is touring a new brewery, meeting a cool person who is involved in beer, or whether it is simply enjoying an amazing homebrew or commercial brew...I want to remind myself how awesome beer truly is.  If I remember to write down some of the special beer moments that happen each week, I will have a way to look back on my year in beer.

Cheers, and Happy 2014 to all!

Mike

In no particular order...

Celebrate 30 years of marriage in September.
Lose some weight.
Brew more and better beer.
