I usually do a 'Leftovers IPA' every year with some 'old' hops. It's kind of fun to see what the combo ends up being. Always comes out good, sometimes great.
I'll be doing one soon. I'm throwing decent amounts of some good hops in there. 2 oz of this 3 oz of that.

Yep.  I did one years back with some Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo, and Mt Hood. The Mt Hood was about 50% of the quantity. Not an IPA hop obviously but it came out damn good. Really worked together. I started working in some Mt Hood here and there.

Just finished--less than an hour ago--bottling an Amber Ale using WL Burton Ale yeast--initial taste was promising. Amber Ale is a style that I've been approaching from all different angles--the "Burton"angle is this year's attempt. Last year I used WLP 008 for a slightly spicy/Alt-like take.

I also enjoy English strains in American Amber ales. Sometimes you can find the right one that suits your tastes and your recipe to a "t". My current American Blond uses WY Thames Valley II strain and comes out pretty tasty.

I kegged a batch of saison last night, and tonight I'm planning to brew a Belgian strong golden.

Bottled up "saison de table" today, although it came in at 5% so not quite session... NBD. I consistently get 565 at 1.001-1.003 these days - I feel like I know this yeast really well now.

Also brewed an east coast (NOT New England) IPA per Mark's (S. Cerevisiae) instructions some time ago. A really old mason jar of WY1450 smelled like bad farts so I'm going with some WY1318 that's from a recent APA.

Brewed an IPA bittered with Columbus to 65 IBU.  Then whirlpooled at 170 with Galaxy, chinook, Columbus ,centennial, and cascade.  12 oz.  then I will dry hop with 3 oz citra.  Grain bill was split Pilsner, 2 row.  5% carastan.  Looking forward to this one.  Hopefully not too muddled with all the hop varieties but it was a freezer clean out.

Someone put hop mud in your beer!?! Sounds good to me!

Just dry hopped it tonight.  Added 3 of citra.  One of Columbus.  And one of chinook.  I'm ready to taste this one.  18 oz. total.  It better be good and hoppy.

A modified version of Tasty Mcdole's session APA using a bit of rye and a roast malt to make it red.

I'm going to try doing to the fermentation hopping as described by The Mad Fermentationist.  Fermenting with scottish ale yeast (WY1728) since that is what I have a cake of right now and it should work fine.
Risk of failure should be no deterrent to trying.

Brewed up my Festbier tonight. Everything went swimmingly until I put the fermenter in the chest freezer. Chest freezer is dead. I made the quick decision to head to Home Depot and buy a new one.

This last one lasted just over 3 years. That seems too short.

I left the old one plugged directly into the wall while I went to get the new one. It was on when I got home. I'll keep the new one a few days just in case.

A similar thing happened to me last batch.  I had manually defrosted my 1960's era fridge by unplugging it and when I plugged it back in, nothing happened.  I went into homebrew panic mode and made other arrangements to keep the fermenters cool, but the next day, the fridge was working fine.  I am not sure what was going on, but next time I defrost, I will do it a few days out.
