And the kids came home from swim practice and proceeded to be monsters, distracting me long enough that it boiled over.

Deja vu for me. :D  That's my biggest obstacle to doing a double batch (hell, a single batch some times). That and I'm getting to be an old fart and it's not as much fun to do a double as it was at 25.

Yeah, I gave up on the double batch.  It is all measured out and everything, but I didn't crush the grain so I just stuck it in a bag and I'll do it next weekend (or maybe I'll have to miss a day of work for unknown reasons).
Risk of failure should be no deterrent to trying.

Doing my wife's apricot beer tomorrow. I decided to keep it somewhat interesting and use a Dingemann Pils base, along with WY3522.

Gotta love hitting all numbers in a 4.5 hour brewday including cleanup. No long mash, no hopstand. Easy peasy.

;D   Well the APA I do next will take a good bit longer with the hopstand. And the lagers I've been doing lately got mashed longer. So a quick one is nice.

I'm on a brewing break as I had to send my mill in to Barley Crusher for warranty repair. That was last Tuesday, so hoping it doesn't take much longer than a month. But it's okay, I can use a break anyway; have been drinking too much, hoping a break from brewing will help me slow my intake down a bit.

Trying to squeeze in an APA today after a 1/2 day of work, sawing some brick to make space for a new patio door, and picking up the boy from day care. To save time, I am going with a 45 minute mash and 45 minute boil.

60% pilsner
20% munich light
20% german wheat

~38 IBU Bravo 45 min
2 oz equinox 2 min
1 oz simcoe 2 min
2 oz equinox DH
1 oz simcoe DH

1.055
US05 or K97
~50 IBU

On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

Couldn't make it happen but got the patio door framed and installed. Maybe Sunday since my donkeys don't play until Monday...

Gonna do an attempt at a lodo APA this weekend with the Cleopatra hops I bought a few months back. Will preboil, use a 50 ppm meta dose, utilizing Brewtan as well to hopefully help to negate my copper IC's potential oxidation. Looking forward to the results.
