First batch after losing 4 kegged batches to the garage floor...

Going for nice summer pale ale with restrained bitterness. Wanted to use what I had on hand so grain bill is minimal
96% schill pilsner
4% home toasted Quaker oats (trying to get a bit of color and flavor)

~28 ibus Nugget 60 min
2 oz ahtanum 2 min
2 oz ahtanum flameout

1.050
Us05

I would normally be dry hopping instead flameout hops but I want it to be ready asap.

Brewed 10 gallons of a 1.072 IPA yesterday, using a lot of homegrown hops.

15 lbs. Muntons Maris Otter blend
15 lbs.  Malteurop 2-row
1 lb. Weyerman Caravienne
1 lb. table sugar

Mashed at 150°F for 60 min, 162°F for 30 min

4 oz. Cascade FWH
3.5 oz. Chinook 60 min
2 oz. Cascade 10 min
2 oz. Centennial 5 min
2 oz. Centennial 0 min

Split between WY1272 and WY1318.

I mashed in my Coleman Xtreme cooler, and forgot to put the lid back on!  Fortunately, that large volume of grist did not cool down in the hour before I added an infusion to raise it to 162°.  I guess a LoDo brewer I shall never be.  :)

I last made that February 2016 (2 corny kegs) and when this spring rolled around vacated the last 1/5 keg from my kegerator when needed to lager 4 kegs.  I cellared the keg in my wine cellar until a week ago and man it's still smooth and delicious.  Best wishes - it is one of the beers on my taplist that gets request for re-brew.

Yes, I've heard nothing but good things about it and the wife loves strong Scotch ales, so it should be a win win all the way around

Smacked a one year old pack of WY1469 West Yorkshire, and a six month old pack of WY1187 Ringwood this morning.  Plan to make starters tomorrow, and brew on Sunday.  Got the fermentables figured out:

18 lbs Fawcett Pearl
1 lb. Simpsons Caramalt
2 lbs. D-45

Aiming for a 1.048 pale ale.  Figuring out the hops.  I have Target, Challenger, and a lot of EKGs on hand. Sadly, I am out of Styrians.  :'(

Two German lagers in two weeks, a couple more to go. Love it when I hit all my numbers!
