Weeknight brew. Pico Z1 getting it done while I lazy around.

Texas Red
79% Root Shoots Genie Pale
10% Light Munich
8% Caramel 60
3% Caramel 120
Chinook FWH
Equinox @ 15
Equinox @ dry hop
Lallemand Köln yeast
Never heard of Texas Red.  Is that your own twist on a good old Texas Brown?  (Looks good anyway.)

I spent my first 37 years in Texas, so, sometimes I just feel the need to include Texas in the name. Regarding red versus brown: we’ll see. Let’s meet in the middle and call it amber ;)

I’m all set up for brewing a Golden Ale using Galaxy hops tomorrow AM. Grains are weighed, MLT and BK are standing by.

I should add: I brewed based on scheduled yeast delivery via US Mail. I cooled the wort, went to the mailbox to get the yeast, drained the kettle into the fermenter and pitched the yeast.

Just In Time Logistics.

Have a Scottish ale bubbling away in the basement. Haven't brewed one in a couple of years, but sure had fun again carmelizing/boiling down some of the wort. Also like how the Wyeast version of the yeast is happy at 57 or so--an altogether different  type of experience than my standard ale.

Brew and grow...

Bottled: Belgian May Ale, APA, Wit, Pilsner, Rye Pale Ale, Pale Irish Ale, Dark Mild, Brown Porter, English Pale Ale, Amber Ale

Fermenting:

Next Brews: English Pale Ale, Spruce Porter, Brown Ale

After a couple of delays, finally got a brew day in!  And all went well.  Export,  Barke Pilsner with 10% Barke Munich, German Tettnang, and 2206.

Just a simple 80/- planned for tomorrow. Pale malt + roasted barley. I am contemplating a small 2% or so addition of med crystal but knowing it’s not required I dunno yet. 30-ish IBU(s) EKG at 60 and S-04 if Pearly’s has it when I run by later this afternoon. Otherwise a slight under pitch of MJ Empire Ale (I only have one pack).

My neighborhood has a few homebrewers - We brew each NewYears Day.

I’m brewing a Dunkel.  Earlier this afternoon I got a good SNS starter of Yeast Bay Dark Franconian lager yeast going - hoping for the best - I’ve never tried this yeast before...

Cool neighborhood!

We brew a few times a year together - a good crew.  Way back when we got introduced to the Sheriff when a neighbor lady thought we were doing something illegal and called the Sheriff.  Now we dutifully contribute to his election campaign - he is a great guy and makes sure our rural neighborhood gets patrolled frequently!

Brewing an IPA for the Scott Mackenzie Homebrew Festival.

I’m either going to serve the 80/- I brewed today or an on deck Galaxy Blonde Ale (re-brew).
