Brown Porter in primary currently. First one in over four years. If it's drinkable, then I'm happy!

I love it when a brew day goes as planned! That is one of my favorite beers, care to share your take on it?

Will be brewing another version of my rotating german pils that features different late hops. Last iteration was saaz late but going with comet in this one so it really won't be a pils at all....

100% pils
magnum bittering
1 oz mittelfruh 30 min
1 oz mittlefruh 15 min
2 oz comet 2 min

M76/S-189 yeast blend

Brewing a "wild" blonde.  Adding some yeast I wrangled in my yard.
Some day we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny

9 Pound Pils

I decided to make as large a batch as the Picobrew Z1 could handle. The Z1 can mash up 9 pounds of grain. I ended up with the following.

4.5 gallons at 1049 SG
8 lbs. Root Shoots Odyssey Pilsner
1 lbs. Flake Corn
35 IBU Saaz (FWH, 60, 15, 5)
Diamond Lager Slurry/Starter

The batch was 3.73 gallons after brewing. I topped up with water and the starter to get to 4.5 gallons.

Brewing a 1 gallon Smash Pale Ale this weekend

2 lbs Great Western domestic 2 row

.25 cascade at 60, 15, and flame out.

If my caramel 60 comes before Friday I’ll add 3-4 Oz of it to the mash.

I have a few recipes drawn up to make with 940.  I already made a sort of Victoria Lager clone (Mexican Vienna for warmer weather) and a "Caribbean Beer".  I have one drawn up that I'm calling Blonde Redhead.  A pale beer with mostly pilsner malt but then some Briess Copper malt and enough Special B to just get a touch of a red tint.  Northern Brewer to bitter and then some late Spalt.  I also have my festbier/tent beer drawn up too... very simple:  65/35 pils/munich 2, about 25 IBUs of a German hop that may be Hallertau, Hersbrucker or maybe even Northern Brewer.  The 940 should do that recipe up righteous. Cheers Beerheads.

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.
