2lbs. of invert sugar. It’s not very dark. I cooked it to 260F. Definitely honey like consistency (or thicker).

Getting ready for Whitbread IPA.

Curiosity has got the best of me.
Will plan to make invert sugar, and brew a version of Whitbread IPA.
Classico tomato sauce (Tomato & Basil) was one of my favorites, until a Dr told me to cut back on
tomatoes and potatoes because of potassium.
That’s funny you recognize the jar. I saved a bunch of those to hold specialty grains. They hold a pound of grain perfectly. Cheers!

Tomorrow Morning

AG Batch #48, 4.5 gal (Volume in Fermenter)

4 lbs Epiphany Ursprung Fest
4 lbs Epiphany Foundation (2-row)

FWH, 22 grams, 2020 Mt Hood-Dried Whole Leaf (4.7AA)
Total hop exposure 1 hour.  (30 min to boil, 30 min boil)

60 min Mash
30 min Boil

Last 5 minutes
25 grams, Curacao Dried Bitter Orange Peel

S-04 @ 57f, 3 weeks

First early taste, malt is very good, Mt Hood never disappoints, S-04 did its job.
Curacao crashed the party, don't care for it, adding it to the forbidden list.
Needs a bit more aging for flavors to mellow and blend better.

I almost asked Fire Rooster what the hell they were talking about last night. I didn’t know it was in reference to the bottle and thought it was a complete non sequitur.

Classico is clearly visible on the jar lid.
Probably not clearly seen on a hand held device.

I just didn’t know what you were referencing so didn’t think to look. I thought maybe it was a reference to another post or something. I got a chuckle when I realized how obvious it was.

Yesterday I made something in the spirit of Two Women by New Glarus in Wisconsin.  They refer to it as a "German Country Lager".  Two malts and one hop.  They do not share their recipes (although I believe the label clearly states Hallertau Mittelfruh) but I believe it's pilsner malt + munich 2.  I did a 60/40.  Bittered to about 23 IBUs from the start of the boil and then added another half ounce of HM at 10.  838 on the yeast.  Similar to a festbier or marzen, I suppose.  I got some very nice, clear wort from this maybe around 7-8 SRM.  Next week it's the American Wheat I mentioned with Loral and 1968.  Cheers Beerheads.

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.

5 gallons of 1957 Whitbread IPA are in the fermenter. My only deviation from the original recipe was to use US Goldings through out. I have have used this batch of Goldings before and they taste pretty authentic to me.

Brewing a 100% Weyermann Vienna Lager tomorrow. Sterling early and Motueka late with WY2278 for my yeast. Should be in its prime in time for Cinco de Mayo.

Friday is the 23rd anniversary of my first batch.  I'm gonna brew either a bock or doppelbock.

Next batch will be a Kentucky Common, I have had that on the brain for a while now. Good spring time, easy drinking beer.

Cool! I'm not sure what my first brew date was...September of 2008 sometime. I should investigate that.

I'm going to brew a kolsch on Sunday.
