Brewing a Red Ale this AM. My 155th full size (5 gal) all-grain batch since AL made HomeBrew legal.

Brewed my first batch in my new place.  A slightly-tweaked version of my Memory Lapse Pale Ale... Great Western 2-row, C40, wheat, Mt. Hood hops to 24 IBUs and S-04.  Smooth brew day and a quick start from the yeast, thank Jeebus.  I'll make some sort of "Pub Ale" next and also a hoppy blonde with Liberty coming up.  It felt good to brew again.  It had been about 3½ months.

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.

I am mashing a Classic American Pilsner today.  I usually do a cereal decoction with corn, but this time I’m using rice.  The porridge that comes as a result of the decoction mash is delicious.
It will he hopped with Clusters and Hallertauer Mittelfruh.

Chinook 2-row smash with Charlie’s Fist Bump yeast. I’ve done several of these 1045-ish smashes lately. These beers, in the immortal words of Alvin Holmes, drink pretty good and I am enjoying trying different yeasts with such a simple grain bill.

4 lbs Deer Creek Pale Ale (First-Time)
4 lbs Deer Creek Dutch Munich (First-Time)
1/4 tsp Gypsum in mash (First-Time)

60 min Mash
60 min Boil

30 Min = 28g, 2021 HD Williamette (6.6AA)
20 Min = 28g, 2021 HD Willaimette

3 weeks @ 64f, 1 Wyeast 1469 West Yorkshire Ale, Dated 30-JUN-2022 (First-Time)
3 weeks @ 75f, bottle Condition-Carb
3 weeks @ 60f
3 days fridge

I like that recipe and think you are headed for a winner.  I've had great success with Deer Creek and those two malts in particular get used in heavy rotation for me.  Keep us posted, I would love to hear your take.

You ain't kidding.
Wife and I had first taste, we both agreed, best one brewed to date.
I think the Munich and yeast lets the grain shine with a low ABV brew.
A tad too much Munich, maybe a bit more hop flavor.
Now lets see how it ages a bit.
Kudos to the yeast, grain, and hops.

Last week I made a bitter/ESB (pale alt malt, british crystal, torrified wheat, Goldings hops, S-04) and yesterday I made a blonde ale (GW 2-row, Vienna, Copper Malt, Liberty hops, S-04) and next week I will make a dark ale with pale ale malt, some british crystal, midnight wheat and Northern Brewer.  I'm cranking out beers quickly because this S-04 is down to metabolize.  :D

Golden stout. I get that it’s a gimmick beer but it’s delicious.

…it’s delicious.

Sounds like a great reason to brew it.
