I'm feeling a little listless.  Better have a beer.  It will probably be the best one I have in the next half hour.

It seems these days of late that saying you drink IPA makes you hip. (even if you haven't a clue of what IPA is)  :o

Kinda like making sure everybody knows what kind of new, amazing, super-hip, flavor-of-the-month tablet you're posting from.   ::)

One of the best beers I ever drank was at a rusty old gas station on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere after a strenuous 4 day, seasonably warm back packing trip in which water was scarce. I was hot, exhausted and thirsty. The beer was ice cold, and exquisite. It was Miller Genuine Draft. The first one went down like liquid sunshine. The second was almost as good.

First time I ever had Pliny it was at Russian River and I was being given a personal tour of the brewery with Vinny himself .... but that MDG .... I don't know if anything ever tasted quite that good.

OTOH there was an Erdinger HefeWeizen in Helen, GA on a sidewalk cafe after a 12 hour motorcycle trip.....

I love the sentiment of that article!!

Nah, really.  I freaking love this story, and coming from the majorvices, it really supports the gist of the article.

Ya buddy. We are lucky enough to be drowning in the variety and complexity of what is now American Beer 2014...and it is helpful to keep some perspective.

Cheers to living in this time.  Lucky us. ;)

A few yrs back my wife and I were camping in Rocky Nat'l Park and decided in a quick 3 mile hike.  As we were hiking, we kept looking at the map and adding a mile here and there.  12 Miles and 6 hrs later, we made it back to camp.  Reached in the cooler and downed a few Coors Lts.  Those are the best beers I've ever had.

Edit:  every time we share this story, my wife jokingly asks if we should change the beer to something like Dry Dock Apricot Ale so we don't get laughed at.
