NHC Shipping Map

Ok... I've searched everywhere. Does anybody have a link to the 2014 NHC shipping map... Or at least the first round judging locations?

The sites are on the BJCP Competition Schedule. Specific addresses are not. Be patient.

All of the first round judging centers are listed on this page under the entry shipping/drop off heading: http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/competitions/national-homebrew-competition/competition-information/

Yeah, I was acknowledging that is had come up. I hope to get a slot in the lottery, as I did not judge last year due to family commitments. The odd thing was that I was stressing on brewing for the NHC last year, and this year it is brew when I feel like it, and if we get some eateries we will pick the best for the comp. I think some have a different viewpoint this year.

Hi Jeff,

Had you been able to judge/volunteer last year, you would have been assured of being in the competition this year.  This year we have 12 judging locations, so there are 9,000 entries possible.  I'm pretty sure everyone who registers for the competition will be able to enter this year (there were 2,187 entrants in 2013).

Good luck in the competition!

Cheers,
Janis

I predict there will be a flood of people volunteering to steward for the NHC in this and following years so they are guaranteed a spot the following year.  Is there a limit on how many stewards a competition needs and would an organizer need to turn some away?

Hi Stephen,

The incentive is for entrants to be the solution to the difficulties encountered as the competition grows.  Each year there are a few sites that are unable to draw the number of judges and stewards needed to complete the competition in one weekend.

If an organizer finds they have too many steward volunteers, and perhaps not enough judges, they may recruit some stewards as judges, or enlist them as cellar crew.  These are large competitions, and I think we should be able to accommodate a significant increase in volunteers.

Cheers,
Janis
