I took the time to read through the candidates' statements, and was somewhat disappointed with the sameness in all of the responses. A few took it upon themselves to update the NHC (which I don't care about), others touched on the legal difficulties associated with homebrewing (applause), but most did not differentiate themselves from the pack.

I would have liked to see one maverick post something like, "Too long we have been joined at the hip with the BJCP and their nobbish ways, and we need to expand our ways of looking at beer and move the NHC into the 21st century!" But I suppose that isn't going to happen, so we should just keep on keeping on.

Sort of like Bertie Wooster voting for the next Grand Poobah of the Drones Club.
