OP - No worries. As said, if you have qualms with using a recipe verbatim, make a change and make it your own. But I think the BEST thing to do is to make one of Jamil's recipes to the letter, take good notes, and then you can change it to your liking. And then you have your own recipe, refined to your tastes. And I bet Jamil would tell you that each of the recipes in that book started from a recipe he found and refined to his tastes. Good luck !
