Email just came through.  We are at the Amway!!!!!!

Can't wait.  And driving from MPLS, so we'll have to stop in New Glarus, WI.  LOL
No plans to stop at Lazy Monk to try Lazy Monk beers?

Oh yea, we'll stop there.  But spending the night in New Glarus.

Does appear that Tuesday night is sold out at both Amway and Marriott.  Glad I was sitting at the computer.

Driving from Wisconsin.  Will be sure to bring a few bottles of the New Glarus Cherry that I still have in the cellar, so that I can make a few friends.

Excited, but still real disappointed about the loss of Pro night.  Also am hoping they have club night in a larger space than last year.

Amway and JW are really nice hotels.  Can't go wrong with those.  The others are some great options also.  Cheers!

I 'm annoyed that the hotel email went out only to people who paid even though all those who registered in the lottery have until Sunday to pay. I would have already, but I'm trying to get my new family membership sorted out because of the new requirement that your SO guest pays AHA dues.

What are the closest hotels other than the Marriott and Amway?

I'm not going this year, but San Diego for sure. I'm curious, why couldn't a person make hotel reservations as soon as you know you're going? For me that would be in late November when vacation bidding is completed. Is that possible or are you required to wait until the AHA says you can?

if you want the conference rate you have towait till AHA releases that block of rooms. If you don't mind paying full price for the room than by all means.

If the AHA didn't book blocks of rooms, other non-AHA people would book those rooms, and you not have the opportunity to book those rooms at all.  Having rooms available for attendees is a very important part of the planning process.

FWIW - some of us never got the hotel email. Luckily it was forwarded from a club member.

All the Hotels near the conference quickly sold out. The one available now is at the airport which is 10+ miles away.

Should have booked long ago and not waited for the official AHA release of hotels.

Sorry to hear that Mike but I seriously want to know.

Dumb question, did you check your spam folder etc.?

And did this happen to anyone else?  Please be specific.

This is a first time doing it this way and with Altitude Tickets and we really want to know about the glitches.

Happened to me. The email was not redirected to spam or another folder, I just never got it.

A club member and I started working the phone and online shortly after we received the email.  I could not find one hotel with online booking, that had Tuesday availability.  My buddy did get one for us at a listed hotel by working the phone, but it's not at the conference rate :(  and it's several miles away :( :( .  Tuesday night is necessary for those of us coming in from far away, for the BJCP exam & reception.
