what type of copper for a IC

First post!!! Whats up guys, I want to make 50' 1/2'' IC. Is refrigerant copper ok for this? Thank you

It seems to me that there are varying qualities that handle different temps. It would be fine if it can handle 212ยบ. I used utility for mine. Seems to me refer is too soft

The roll of 50 Ft X 1/2 in copper refrigeration tube I bought many years ago works fine. Good to 400F the specs say. You want something that is easy to form. I rolled it around a corny keg to form it. Used compression fittings on the ends.

Ya it is. I looked at home depot when I built mine. Like $180. We have a this-n-that store near by. I found a 60' roll of new 1/2" for $90. Score!

Yeah, after I saw that price that it might just be worth buying one, so I searched the one a bought about a year and a half ago. I got it from morebeer, and it was $100... It's now $139  :(

Most solder is lead free these days, and would work fine.

Yes. Mine is attached wuth zip ties that I cut to clean then reattach

Check out shark bite too. Seems easy and no solder. I bought a torch and soldered mine cuz I wanted to learn how

Clean it after soldering, as flux tastes nasty.
