I'm getting tired of people telling me I'll brew them a batch if they buy me the "ingredients". I say make your own effing beer!

Same here.  Everybody wants me to bring them beer that I made.  Like Charlie says in the Zymurgy ad, "This is my beer - make your own."
Another thing that seems clueless to me is how many people see my brewery and call it a still.
And while we're on the subject, do you ever get tired of the question, "What is your favorite beer?"

We should start another thread just for curmudgeons like me.

^^THIS^^.   My experience to a T.

I like when people pay for my ingredients to brew them a beer.  I enjoy brewing so much I brew more than I can drink anyways... so whenever I am 'funded' to brew it's a bonus brew day for me. lol

I always have a "student" these days.  They pay for half the ingredients and do all the labor, and in return they get half the beer(5 gallons).  But when people ask me to brew something I tell them they can spend the day brewing with me, and I brew sober, so they lose interest fast.

Another good way to make people lose interest in helping is starting your brew day at 5:30AM on Friday.   8) The ones that show up at 5:30 are actually interested in learning though.
Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?

we are in Carrie Nation country, so maybe this is just a Kansas thing, but....

*incredulous look*  "Is that LEGAL?!?" is by FAR the most common reaction I get.

My neighbor is convinced that my immersion chiller is part of a still.
Well...I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer

I'm getting tired of people telling me I'll brew them a batch if they buy me the "ingredients". I say make your own effing beer!

Follow that with a simple, "I'm not sure you realize how much time and effort was put into what you are drinking right now." I'll bet you won't get many more of those demands!  ;)

I'll often have co-workers and friends that are interested in brewing and having some homebrew but don't necessarily want to get into the craft.  What I offer them is that they need to purchase the ingredients and spend the brew day or most of it out in the garage with me. We brew a 12 gallon batch and I bottle 2 cases of bombers of the beer for them to keep.  $1.67 a beer for $40 of ingredients and a fun day of learning about brewing is a pretty good deal.  I've had friends give "brew with steve" gifts to family members too.  Its a fun way to share the hobby and the beer and the burden.
