Shout out to B3. Ordered the 8 gallon yesterday along with a pound of D180. Free shipping and tracking says it will be at my door tomorrow.  Not bad.

They have really stepped up the saver shipping. In the past it wouldn't ship for a few days.

Agreed. It used to take longer for them to pack it than the shipping.

It arrived. Love it. Fits chest freezer with 6" to spare. Ordering a second or third one. Screw buckets and blowoff tubing. This thing rocks. Haven't used it yet of course, but its obvious this is the way to go.

Could you post pics when the second comes in?

I want to see how they fit in your chest freezer!

The new plastic Big Mouth Bubbler from Northern Brewer/Midwest looks nice too. Big Mouth has only 6.5 gallon capacity versus 7.9 gallon for Spiedel. But, Big Mouth is transparent which is something I would like from my Spiedel. I love to watch the fermentation channel.

No idea those existed. Look pretty nice. Clear like a better bottle without the hassle of a small opening.

The handy part of a clear fermenter is seeing the end of the siphon

I have the 30L speidel and absolutely love it. So far I have done 4 beers in it, and the only one that needed a blow off tube was the 10% belgian tripel. Even then I only got a little running down the side. The head space coupled with the huge airlock really makes things easy. I noticed on mine that the spigot pickup is offset from the center of it's mounting cap which means I can rotate it so that it picks up beer from higher up in the fermentor, so that I get clear beer into the keg. I don't have any issues with getting yeast or trub into the keg.  ;)

I've had my 30L for about a ear now. It is by far my favorite fermentor. I've only once experienced the need for a blowoff, but that was no biggie. If you look around you can find where people have modded them for thermowells and using them for push transfers with CO2.  They aren't transparent but are translucent so you can still tell some things about your fermentations. I currently use mine in. 5.0cf chest freezer and it fits fine.

Oh and the white caps that co on your carboy hood?  They work as a perfect cap for the spigot.

Unbelievable! California's wildfires are delaying the delivery of my fermentor. Talk about not having your priorities straight. Common people, let the FedEx truck through.
