Like others, I'm not big on whale hunting, but I'd try it if it was offered to me.  I've eaten some pretty interesting stuff over the years - even some rattlesnake.
Rattlesnake is probably the toughest meat I've ever eaten.  Horse is probably the tastiest, tenderest meat I've ever had.  I wouldn't give whale a second thought but like some others have said it's not something I'm going to search for.

While I am not down with whale killing I admit I would try a bite if it was offered to me.
+1 - yup, if the whale is already dead, not eating it isn't going to save it.

I have eaten whale meat while I was an exchange student in Japan.  It chewed like roast beef and tasted like fish.

Was I happy about it?  Not particularly, but the girl who cooked it was hot, so. . .  Would I eat it again?  Probably not, but it will depend on how hot the girl is.
