Turning Scottish?
« on: May 14, 2014, 11:40:40 am »
Is it possible? My favorite style is 80/- and now one of my favorite bands is Battlefield Band. What's happening to me?

Don't buy a kilt! It'll attract unwanted attention on the bike.

utilikilt makes one with a 'modesty snap' that should cut down on that particular problem.

Buy a kilt. they are the single most comfortably piece of clothing a man can own that is generally accepted by 'mainstream' society. Man what I wouldn't give for a really MANLY sundress :o

I love my entry level kilt ($100) . And now that I know that I may step up to a Utilikilt, but they are a bit pricey. Great to brew in on a sunny day, just know your neighbors line of sight!

Well a kilt from Seattle seems odd, but I've heard of them before. Might have to go with the carhart version.

That might be the required uniform while brewing a Scottish Ale.  BTW, do you mind sharing your recipe?

5 gal

6lbs Golden Promise
6lbs Munich 10L
2 oz carafa II special
Malt fwd water profile
Mash at 154-156º

Reduce first gallon of first runnings to a quart

28gm EKG at 60
28gm EKG at 15

Wy1728 at 60º

By the way Steve, my next brew days is this batch. Im doing a second batch just like it but subbing in 6 lbs UK Brown malt for the Munich and Carafa. Just to do a side by side and perhaps keep it all UK.

Buying a bottle of Laphroig actually gets you a square foot of property on Islay.
