I'm heading down to New Orleans for a wedding. Any beer recommendations?
I won't have much time to hit a brewery but if there are preferred local brews I
would like to try a few.

Wish me luck I may not make it down there...

Most everything by Abita is pretty good.  And you can pick it up just about anywhere.  If you're in the Quarter, there's also Crescent City Brewhouse on Decatur - love their "Black Forest".  Finally, several blocks further east on Decatur is Sydneys - good bottle shop.

You should really try to go to Crescent City Brewouse. Great beer...great food...and awesome scenery.

I was down there in March and really just did not enjoy Crescent City. Decent food, but the beer seemed mediocre, and one was just plain contaminated.

Abita is good and available anywhere, especially the Amber. Any bar with a decent selection will also have NOLA on tap - they have an IPA called Hopitoulas that's great. If you can get to the brewpub they have a couple more unusual things on tap there.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.
