I like club night when the clubs aren't beer dumping. If they only have five great beers, then serve five. No need to bring 20 when 15 are less than stellar. IMO I should not have to dump a club night beer because it has major flaws. YMMV.
We're meeting the week before to taste all of the beers.  Everyone knows those that blow won't be served at Club Night.  Unfortunately we won't know the fate of the cask conditioned brews until they are tapped at Club Night.   8)

And with so many clubs/people at Club night last year, I felt it was pointless to be rotating taps for variety. Not many people ever made it back to our booth and when they did they wanted to have more of something that was not on anymore.

So better to have fewer great kegs than more mediocre kegs.

Except for MPLS / St. Paul in 2010 when Brian didn't clamp his jockey box lines and half of his Bock blew in the box and the back wall of the hall.   :o  He felt better though last year after seeing the Lagunitas keg gush 10 feet into the air for what seemed to be an extremely long time.

Yeah I recall it almost hitting the ceiling.  So what, maybe 20-30 feet?

It was 100 feet in the air, people were running and screaming...the national guard was called in...mass hysteria!!!

The height was funny, but what really struck me was HOW LONG the stream kept shooting up.  It seemed to just keep going and going and going.  We laughed, cracked a joke or two, and then we were like 'okay, someone should really get on that'.

maybe an example of something attendees may experience that wasn't available in previous years would help with the mentality Fred mentioned.  Will pros be pouring beer in seminars?  Taking shifts in the social club?  wandering among the throng gathered outside the banquet area pouring their beers?

Pro Night was a known, while the changes are an unknown.
just sayin'
understood, but I don't want to state something that isn't so.  I'm sure more will be rolling out on this soon.

Fred, can you tell us any more yet?
as mentioned here:  http://www.brewbound.com/news/2014/aha-national-homebrewers-conference-to-feature-commemorative-bells-beer

...it appears there will be a "Local/Craft Brewery Lounge"
I'm guessing (hoping) a few other brewers will rotate through this, similar to clubs rotating serving in the social club?

*edit* - although I'd be pretty happy just drinking Bell's the whole time.   ;D

I have not seen a schedule yet, but I am expecting to see the Pros alongside the clubs in the Beer City Social Club on 3 days in addition to the Welcome Reception and any booths being sponsored by the Pros.

2 things:
1 is this the way it is going to be done from now on?
2nd if they are serving durning the lecture I will have a lot less access to them, but I am sure not having to rent a room saved you money and I spent more since only thing happening is BNA9 that night.
Was this a law issue or just decision by the AHA?
