Central MA Clubs?
« on: June 06, 2014, 08:19:07 am »
Looking to move back to the Sturbridge/Brimfield area and having a tough time finding a club..anyone out there actually homebrewing?  Looks like there was a club in Fiskdale and one in Brookfield, but neither have any web presence.

Maybe the DIY Homebrew shop in Ludlow can give you some suggestions.  Only about 25 miles away from your area.  But then they may be more in tune with the Springfield area.

Looks like SPARGE meets at that store http://www.sparge.us/

25 miles is nothing if it's a great club.  I travel about 40 miles to my club, even though there are a couple nearby.

I don't have the time to join one but there is a Worcester club that meets in Shrewsbury: http://www.brewbeer.org
If you end up on the Sturbridge side of your Sturbridge/Brimfield plan this wouldn't be a bad ride down rt 20.
Don't let the bastards cheer you up.

There is a guy who is trying to get one going in Sturbridge.  Check out this link on HomeBrew Talk for details.

Off to a good start.  We gathered about a dozen names and email addresses at the July meet up and will be scheduling a meet up at Rapscallion for late August for anyone else who is interested.  We will post the date and time here.

We will continue with our efforts to get a Homebrew Club started in the Sturbridge area.  Our next "meet up" will take place at Rapscallion's Tap Room on Thursday, August 21st at 7pm.

Hopefully we will be able to get a club started this fall.  In the meantime, these meet ups are a great opportunity to come in and meet the guys who are trying to get this started (not to mention a great excuse to have a couple of pints!)
