Bottle-harvesting yeast from Ninkasi Total Domination?
« on: July 09, 2014, 05:10:55 pm »
Hello, wondering if anyone has had good results with harvesting yeast from the (big) bottles of Ninkasi Total Domination?  wondering if the bottle yeast is the same as the primary?  thanks!

I doubt they use a bottling yeast with a relatively (these days) low ABV beer.

Salute the Major! Right again!
Ninkasi uses a ginormous centrifuge to clarify so i doubt there's anything in there you could culture.
Best cointact Denny for a sample of that yeast.

OK good to know it's the same yeast. And yes, there wasn't much there to work with either, but I had the 2 bottles already (actually tricerahops, not td), and was making a starter anyway, so...  took 3 days before much activity, looking good now.  so will see....
