Far and Away Club
« on: May 16, 2015, 09:13:00 pm »
Has anyone ever joined a HB club that is very far away? I was considering this to take advantage of some of the club's resources, articles, etc. There is a good local club, but some of the larger west coast clubs have much better representation, articles, forums, etc.

I did, but I had intentions of moving to the city at a later date.

I would contact the Board of the club(s) in question and ask if they accept distance members.

I feel that what you describe as your motivation is the same reason most of us are AHA members. The only reason I see to join a club is because it IS local and you meet up physically with people and can brew together, share beers etc. If all you want is forums, resources, articles etc then what's better than this? Are there homebrew clubs with better publications than Zymurgy and better forums than this one?
Don't let the bastards cheer you up.
