New Brew Day Timer
« on: April 16, 2010, 03:46:57 pm »
I have a new timer just about ready to be released. I need a few people to try it out for me on their pc to see if it is good on other pc's. You need at least .net2 to run the program. The new features I have added are. It can be resized to fit your screen, and the ability to load the Boil time, Hop Additions and Misc Additions from a BeerXML file.

Let me know if you want to help.

A timer would be a great linux project.

How about running this beta through wine?

I just downloaded it to my laptop.  Looks good so far.  The Alarm is pretty cool.  I also like the Brix conversion.  Good Job.

EDIT:  I just tried out the hop timer.  Very impressive.  I am going to recommend this a couple of our HBC Members to try out as well.

The version you have is the BETA version. Here is the final release.

There is also a "Check For Updates" feature. This will be handy as I grow the Hop.ini file and maybe add some new features.

If it is .net it will not run thru WINE.

There should also be Mono framework for windows.

You all have good ideas for cross platform. I'll give you the basic .net coding if you want to do it. I have already spent enough time and some money giving the brewing community a free program. I dont do this for a living so I'm not going to learn more coding. At least not right now. Plus the Mono Compatibility program brought up a ton of conflicks.
