+1, I made extract version of this last summer and it was awesome! Not sure how big you want your Imperial to be, this yields ABV of 6.6%, and it is a tasty experiment in late addition hopping for maximum flavor and aroma

The linked Evil Twin recipe calls for Safale US-56. I read somewhere that is now known as US-05 aka "Chico" and is the same as WY1056 or WL001. Is that correct?  I want to put this in my line up and want to get it right.

Basically all the same. US-56 became US-05 back in 2007 I think.

I'm little late to the game here, but I would highly recommend Denny's Waldo Lake Amber. While not an imperial red, it does have a fairly high OG to begin with, and wouldn't take much to imperialize it. Love that 1450 yeast strain.

+1, to the recipe and yeast. 1450 is pretty much my go to for American brown, porter, and stout.

Yep, due to a very expensive lawsuit by Wyeast.
