Start of my first setup
« on: August 25, 2014, 10:29:55 pm »
Hey guys I am new to brewing and very much into the idea of having control over making beers that I want to drink.

I decided to document my first setup here and allow for everyone to provide their input.

My cooker starts here:

This week I plan to measure for a lid and get the top opened and have found a few Craig's List glass carboys.

I plan to build a cooler mash tun and just start right at it with grain brewing. I am fortunate to have a hop yard just 3 miles from my home and a co-worker that has been brewing for a bit to show me the ropes.

My name is Jason, I live near Dayton, OH and go by the alias Octabird.

Not sure what that is, looks like a valve of some sort. I did not think twice about it.

Hi Jason,
you're gonna benefit here as you have even no idea! This place is great and people are amazing. Both friendly and wise. And don't look at my post count. I read for a loooong time and lots and used guys' tips and only then decided to finally join in a more physical way :)
