Forgot to add my 0 minute hops
« on: September 20, 2014, 02:25:08 pm »
Today I brewed Jamil's West Coast Amber. I forgot to add the 0 minute hop additions (2 oz).

I am planning to add them as dry hops.

Any thoughts? Should I use them all, some of them, or none of them as dry hops?

Thanks!

Yep, dry hop with the 2 oz.  That amount is a very common APA dry hopping level, and it would be appropriate for a West Coast amber to have APA type hopping levels. Good luck !

I changed the recipe to use Simcoe and Citra. I didn't have ant Centennial and Cascade.

Very good substitutes from an aroma and flavor standpoint.

This beer fermented 3 days. Tasted the hydro sample. It is great.

I was worried there might not be enough hop flavor due to forgetting the 0 min additions. There is plenty.

I will definitely be dry hopping. I like dry hops which accompanies a good dose of hop flavor. That will be easy with this beer.

Sounds delicious - I am about to rack my wet hopped amber from last month - I added a pound at flameout with a short hop stand.

Wow! You are a hop head! My Amber will have 5 ounces of hops total. Now, I feel like less than a man. Thanks! :)
