Tarot Deck: also borderline shameless etc.
« on: September 29, 2014, 11:50:51 PM »
My girlfriend is releasing a " majors only"version tonight of her new creation : " Tabula Mundi" www.tabulamundi.com ( click on " major Arcana Color")
In addition to being a fantastic melomel maker Melissa is a fantastic visionary artist. She previously created the " Rosetta Tarot"  www.rosettatarot.com which is also available as an app for apple and android in the apple store and google play.
I realize that if one were to draw a venn diagram of  homebrewers and tarot card enthusiasts the intersection might not be very big but I thought maybe a handful of you might be interrested or know someone who is. For those of you who think of tarot cards as woo- woo because sometimes they are used by fortune tellers, please know that they can also be wonderful works of fine art that incorporate Jungian psychology ( the collective unconcsience), mythology, and basically the history of western philosophy, theology, and science. Please check them out.

Pretty interesting, but i'm trying to figure out how to look at the art on the cards, and I must be missing something.

Did you click "major arcana color"? That will show each card individually.

Also, Jonathon, sorry for putting this thread up when you are doing a similar thing, I would have waited if it wasn't a time sensitive thing. Viewers please also see Jonathon's post " borderline shameless..." Under "the pub".

yea that's cool. The actual cards have the symbols you see on the bottom embossed with silver foil. The printers did a great job.

Her artwork is fantastic, Pete. Reminds me of when I used to play Magic. Great stuff!

Eric, did you say Magic? Been out of it for almost 10 years now but had a blast. Making beer is a much more enjoyable hobby, even with only one year to compare against almost 10!

Yeah, I mainly played online back before I was a Dad. I'd keep coming back to it every couple of years. It was sort of my bridge as I got worn out playing one MMO and before I found another. I still get the itch to log on and play a few games every once in a while.

I never played online but think my cousin still has a virtual collection worth thousands. I sold out back around 2004/05 for well more than I put into it. I don't have the cards anymore, but will always have my "Balance" tattoo. Geeky, yes, but it helps me remember to stay centered. Great artwork, but hard to explain the tattoo to anyone who does or does not know the game at least if they have never played
