« on: November 18, 2014, 12:32:08 pm »
Hello
i found a porter recipe online that im working with but i want to do a bit of tweaking too.
The base recipe is
6lbs amber extract
1.5 lbs dark dme
1/2 lba chocolate malt
1/2 crystal malt
1/4 black patent
8oz maltodexterin
.75lb unsweetened bakers chocolate

What im thinking of doing to it and dropping it to 2.5 gallons
2lbs amber dme
.5 lbs dark dme
1 lb 2 row base malt
1/4 lb choc malt
1/4 lb dark crystal
1/8 lb black patent
1/4 lb carapils.
Ibu's will be around 15 when im done
adding 4oz maltodexterin
And .37lb bakers chocolate
 Amy feedback would be appreciated

Check what is in the dark DME. It probably already has some dark malts you are including. Why not stay with light malt DME and let your dark malts do the work since the dark DME is an unknown to what is in the mix.

Good Luck,
