Veteren's Day
« on: November 11, 2014, 05:22:15 am »
Make sure to take a moment today to remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to make and keep us free.

Thank you to those in uniform today and all the men and women who served before you.  We owe you a debt that can never be repaid.

Paul
Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?

Veteran's Day a brief history- cause I have to explain it to my children

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the armistice went into effect  to end the "war to end all wars"
Originally called Armistice Day to honor WWI veterans, it was adapted in 1954 because of WWII and the Korean war to include veteran's of all wars.

It is now a day to honor all those who have served in the military. Rightfully so in this day and age, as anyone who puts on that uniform is a target of our enemies both known and unknown. It should never be taken lightly.  Thank you for your service

Thank you veterans for your service and sacrifice. It's easy to take our lifestyle and culture for granted sometimes, but it takes people paying the price to have a country like this. The whole idea of a free country even trickles down to the right to brew beer at home. Thank you !

Man, Veteran's day is a good day. I get to thank the brothers and sisters I served with, and I get to eat and drink free or cheap food or drink.

Its a good day, but it was paid for with blood, sweat and tears. Good things for my brothers and sisters in arms.

Thanks for your service!
