Little mishap - how screwed am I?
« on: December 12, 2014, 09:25:12 pm »
I recirculated after my mash then added my sparge water waited a couple minutes and then out to my brew kettle. Was I supposed to recirculate again? I didn't. I probably have lots of grain particle that just got boiled for 60 minutes.

How screwed am I? Btw I am using a bazooka screen that did pretty good during the first recirculating.

I bet you'll be fine.  But perhaps not.  If you pick up any astringency then you'll know why.  I still think you'll be alright though, probably.

I hope so. Today just wasn't my day. I should have waited until tomorrow with a clearer head.

I completely forgot to vorlauf once last year and that beer wound up in Grand Rapids!  At this point I would just focus as much attention as possible on fermentation.

Well so far fermentation is going really well. The wlp005 is going to town like a fat kid eats pie. We'll see!
